Sofiyska oblast - Sofia Province


The Софийска област (Sofia Province) does not include the city Sofia which is its administrative center. Formed like a huge letter C, with the opening to the left, it encloses the city in the north, east and south. Unlike the city it is mostly mountainous and there are several karst areas with caves.
