Grotte Conturines is the highest altitude cave with
Cave Bear (Ursus spelaeus)
remains.
This bear lived here about 14,000 years ago, 2,800m above sea level.
The Grotte Conturines contains numerous skeletons, which were studied at the
University of Vienna by Prof. Rabeder.
