History

Description

The cave is of Karst origin, is just over 350 m long and is made up of a number of chambers. At the entrance there is the vestibule, a large chamber adorned with enormous stalagmites. The vestibule gives way to the most beautiful chamber, known as Casa delle Janas (The House of the Fairies), an oval shaped room, 25 m long and about 8 m wide. It abounds in concretions and is dominated by three enormous stalagmites.

Neolithic remains have been found in the entrance passages.
