Nicaragua

A typical Central American country sandwiched between Honduras and Costa Rica, with the Pacific Ocean to the south and the Caribbean Sea to the east. More infamous for its history of dictators and revolutions, Nicaragua has been overlooked by cavers. Numerous lava caves are known in the volcanic mountains in the west, whilst in the north western parts of the country there are many unexplored limestone caves. Language: official language Spanish, but English is widely spoken on the Caribbean coast.
