Kosovo and Metohija

Republic of Kosovo

Kososvo is quite small, with only three underground sights listed at the moment. It is part of the Dinarides, the karstified limestone ridges along the Adriatic sea, so it is riddled with caves. However, there are not many tourist sites, and concerning the political situation not many tourists either.

Kososvo is a partially recognized state named Republic of Kosovo, which was originally part of Yugoslavia, then part of Serbia, and since 2008 independent. However, while 115 of 193 UN member states and Taiwan recognized it as a sovereign state, it still has no tld, no ISO 3166 code and no currency, as they simply use Euros although not being part of the EU. As we are not very much interested in politics—we sort the website by political borders for convenience reasons—we actually do not care about the status of the country. However, the tld of a country is part of the URL and Kosovo has none. So we decided to keep it as a part of Serbia at the moment, just out of laziness. Please do not discuss this with us. We are specialized in caves, not in borders.
