Geology

Description

Spa Terra is said to be the first spa in the world to be developed entirely underground, in the words of the management nel cuore della terra (in the heart of the earth). It features steam grottos, soaking pools, water walls, and lavishly appointed private treatment rooms for individuals and couples. There are rooms for wet and dry treatments with special options for men, teens and pregnant women. A relaxation lounge and lunch and wine service completes the range of services. The decor reflects the Mediterranean theme of the Resort.

It seems the former vineyard at Napa was bought by a company which transformed it into a luxury resort. The vineyard included the central building with its vine making infrastructure, which became a sort of rustic backbone of the resort. The old vine cellar, 2,000m² of underground space, were converted into a so called Wine Cave and the spa. The Wine Cave is a storage cellar for the local wines sold at the resort, and it seems it is possible to visit the cave.
