Burgenland

The Burgenland is the region at the eastern border of Austria towards Austria. It is 166 km long from north to south, but only a few kilometers wide. The borderland is located east of the Alps, it is only between 100 m and 900 m high. Much of its area belongs to the Hungarian plains or Pannonic Plains. The region is not suitable for caves and does not have ore deposits. As a result there are few underground sites.
