In the tourism industry, there are two seasons, high and low season. Actually, those seasons, unlike for example, summer and winter, depend on the number of people which travel. So if there are many visitors/travelers its high season. As a result, there might be numerous high seasons during the year. Many operators have different times and/or fees during high and low season. Unfortunately, tourists are often not aware when those actually are. As a rule of thumbs, these are school holidays and different Holidays and festivities, which might be a weekend or even a full week.
During Alta Temporada (High Season) the fee is higher, probably longer open hours too, as during Baixa Temporada (Low Season). In Brazil, the high season is in the months of December, January and July.
We have a list for school holidays and festivities which is for 2021, be aware that the dates might change as religious Holidays are sometimes determined with different calenders.
