Thuringia

Thüringen is divided into three regions with extremely different geology:

• Thüringer Becken (Thuringia Plains) in the north of the state
• Thüringer Wald (Thuringia Forest) in the southwest
• Thüringisch-Vogtländisches Schiefergebirge (Thuringian Highland) in the southeast
