The Region of Murcia in the southeast part of the Iberian Peninsula is one of the smaller regions. Nevertheless, it is among Europe’s largest producers of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Tourism is concentrated on its Mediterranean coastline. The region has 72 caves with prehistoric paintings and engravings, which are included in the rock art of the Iberian Mediterranean Basin listing on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
