. Anna Petrocheilou was the President of the
Hellenic Speleological Society for a very long time.
This book is a comprehensive guide to public caves in Greece, but it does
not discriminate between show caves and other caves.
You should read the description carefull, to determine the necessary
equipment.
And it is now twenty years old, much information is outdated.
Some caves, which were selected by Mrs. Petrocheilou as tourist caves were
never developed, some were developed lately, as the last years brought a
boom in tourism (because Greece joined the European Community, the Euro
countries, and it hosts the Olympic Games in 2004).
Be careful, when you buy this book directly from Greece, as I paid much more postage and handling, than the book costs!
I live in Germany, inside the European Community, so it may be even more expensive for oversea customers! The Greek Caves
