Throughout Germany, the following wonderful incident is known: On the outermost coast of the sea, under a jutting rock, there is a cave in which, for a long time, seven men have been sleeping, it is impossible to say for how long; their bodies remain incorrupt, their clothes do not wear out, and they are highly revered by the people. From their costume they appear to be Romans. One of them was tempted by the desire to take off the robe of one sleeper; immediately his arms withered, and the people were so frightened that no one dared to come near. Providence preserves them for a holy purpose, and one day they may rise and preach the holy doctrine to the heathen nations.
