Zeêland

Zeeland

Zeêland is the westernmost and least populous province of the Netherlands. It consists mostly of islands in a large river delta at the mouth of several major rivers, namely Schelde (Scheldt), Rijn (Rhine) and Maas (Meuse). Large parts of Zeeland are below sea level and was reclaimed from the sea. Like most parts of the Netherlands, this is quite unsuitable for any kind of underground structure. Even cellars are impossible in wide areas due to groundwater. The Atlantikwall bunkers were actually built on top.
