Northland Region

The Northland Region is the northernmost peninsula of New Zealand. It is bounded to the west by the Tasman Sea, and to the east by the Pacific Ocean. The rolling hill country has numerous karst areas with almost tropical karst features. This includes karren, pinnacles, and even stone forests, as well as sinking rivers and lots of dolines. The limestones are about 30 Ma old.
