Kalakhang Maynila


Metro Manila is a tiny region which is actually a city, it is the capital region covering Manila, the largest metropolitan area of the Philippines. It is typically called Kalakhang Maynila in english Metropolitan Manila, commonly shortened to Metro Manila. Formally it is the Pambansang Punong Rehiyon (National Capital Region, NCR). Located on the eastern shore of Manila Bay, it extends from the mouth of the Pasig River in the west to Marikina Valley in the east. It has four different landscapes, the Coastal Margin, Guadalupe Plateau, Marikina Valley, and the Laguna Lowlands. Mostly lowlands, the area is actually not suitable for caves, but as any city of the world has artificial underground spaces, there are some subterranea.
