Vancouver Island is called The Island of Caves as it is riddled with caves, most of them are still unexplored. Whilst the Ministry of the Environment discourages exploration of the unmapped caves, there are a number of wild caves open to the public. Remember, you should wear sturdy boots, warm clothing and have a helmet and headlamp to explore.
