Vardar Zone

The Vardar Zone (VZ) is both, a geological unit and a geographical, it is easy to see in real, because it is a valley, lowland. Geographically it is the central valley formed by the Vardar river and framed along its borders by two different mountain ranges. The Šar Mountains in the west are a part of the Dinaric range. The Osogovo–Belasica mountain chain, also known as the Rhodope range. The valley runs from north-northwest to south-southeast which coincides with the three major fault lines. In other words, the existence of the valley is the result of the change in geology, which causes higher erosion here and thus the formation of the valley.

The whole valley is fertile and farming country, also there are major cities, like Skopje, Kumanovo, Veles and Gevgelija. However, the fluvial sediments and the high groundwater level are not suitable for underground structures. Not even for artificial ones. Currently, we have no sights listed in this area.
