Cordillera Administrative Region

CAR - Mountain Province

Rehiyong Administratibo ng Cordillera (Cordillera Administrative Region) is a landlocked region on Luzon island. It is also called CAR, Cordillera Region, and simply Cordillera. It was named so because it covers most of the Cordillera Mountain Range. The main tourist attractions are the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras and Banaue Rice Terraces. The oldest rice terraces are believed to be 2,000 years old, at least according to local lore. But although carbon dating suggests they are much younger, they were nevertheless inscribed on the UNESCO WHL.
