Estado Zulia

Estado Zulia is the westernmost state, in the northwestern corner of the country. On the surface the Lake Maracaibo is the most spectacular sight, underground its one of the largest oil and gas reserves in the Western Hemisphere. This is the region which makes Venezuela the most important oil producer in the world. Unfortunately, the ongoing reductions in the consumption of fossil fuels due to the climate change will probably make the production of oil obsolete.
