Tinh Kiên Giang

Kien Giang Province

Kiên Giang Province is located in the Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam. The whole area is flat and only a few meters above sea level, the plain is fertile and used for rice farming. The area has a lot of karst towers, huge, up to 100 m high rocks of Permian limestone, with vertical walls, karren and stone forests. They are riddled with caves. The caves are world-famous for their biodiversity with endemic cave animals. Unfortunately, they are massively quarried for the production of cement, the caves are destroyed and the cave life destroyed. The karst towers are in the top ten list for the most endangered karst worldwide for thirty years now.
