Hang Sơn Trà (Son Tra Cave, Loquat Cave) is quite spectacular, a solutional cave at the foot of the small karst tower, only a few meters above sea level, with impressive solutional forms on the wall. The cave has almost no speleothems, but impresses with its unique form. The cave has a lot of openings, and the sun shines into the cave passages, creating a special atmosphere. The passages form a horizontal maze, and most of them have water on the floor. So visitors have to wade through the water to visit this cave. We strongly suggest bringing a headlamp, gum boots or water-resistant shoes, and hire a local guide for the visit. The locals seem to prefer walking barefooted through the cave though. As there are many pictures showing locals fishing inside the cave, it seems the cave is traditionally used for fishing.
The site seems quite popular with photographers, there are impressive pictures on Google Maps. Actually, pictures of the cave are on all stock photo sites and offered for purchase in any imaginable way. The origin of those pictures is never explained.
