History

Description

Kisha e Shën Mitrit (St. Demetrius' Church) is located on the western shore of Lake Prespia, not far from the village Globoceni. It is reached by boat, or after a 3.4 km hike along the beach. The small cave church was built into a cave high in the limestone cliff, the entrance is reached by climbing up a long iron ladder. This is obviously not for everyone, nevertheless the church seems to be well frequented. It is ruined, but still in use as a church, there are icons and burning candles.
