Kanioni i Llëngës (Llënga Canyon) is named after the nearby village of Llënga, in the area of Mokra, Pogradec. The gorge is also known as Gryka e Guri. The gorge cuts through a limestone mountain ridge which runs north to south, while the gorge runs east-west. The narrow section is only 500 m long, the eastern side is the wide and fertile valley where Llënga is located, the western side is a rather narrow valley which is uninhabited. The gorge is located in the Parc National Llogara.
This gorge is quite spectacular, easy to visit with a good trail, and definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, it is in the middle of nowhere, it is almost at the border to Macedonia, in a steep valley in the middle of a mountain ridge and far from any major road. The nearby village Llënga is actually a hamlet and there is only one road leading to this hamlet, a single lane gravel road which ends here. And of course, the hamlet is not signposted, the locals know where it is. Definitely a sight for the adventurous traveller. So if you intend to visit this gorge, prepare with a good map and gps, and enough time to navigate winding roads. It's about 30 km from Pogradec, but the drive will take at least 1.5 hours.
