History

Description

The Cueva de Los Pajaritos (Los Pajaritos Cave) is a tectonic and erosional cave which was formed by the erosion of river Mallín, which created a gorge, and then the collapse of the gorge. The result is a small cavern through which the river of the gorge flows. The cave is famous for the Chirrios, small birds which live in the cave. The site is privately owned and operated as a show cave, nature reserve, and arboretum with developed trails. While the geology of the cave is really unique, it is not very spectacular and rather small.
