History

Description

The Tiefenbachklamm is the gorge of the Brandenberger Ache river. It is located between Kramsach and Brandenberg. Unlike the other gorges in the area, this one is free, there is no entry fee. The trail is maintained by the Tourismusverband, and the open hours are simply for security. The trail is dangerous through winter due to ice and floods, so it is open only during summer. The gorge is less spectacular than other gorges and the trail much less difficult to build, it's just built along the side right above the vertical walls of the gorge. Nevertheless, the gorge is quite impressive, rather long, and very popular among kayakers, which you can observe from the trail.

The tour starts at the Parkplatz Tiefenbachklamm, There is a spectacular outlook halfway, which was built like a balcony over the gorge. It ends after a hike of 3.5 km at the Jausenstation Tiefenbachklamm. There is also a road through the valley, which starts at Kramsach in the Inn valley. If you have a second car or use a taxi or the bus, you can end the tour here, otherwise you best return on the same path. Its only 500 m to the Jausenstation Stegerstall and the bus stop Brandenberg Stegerstall at this road.
