Description

曹操运兵道 (Cao Cao’s Military Transport Route), also known as Cao Cao’s hidden military tunnels, are located under the main streets of the old city of Bozhou, Anhui Province. They are also one of the several Underground Great Wall sites. The tunnels were first built at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. They were underground military tunnels constructed by Cao Cao, the Emperor Wu of Wei, for his military needs. Because they were initially used to transport soldiers, they were called "Cao Cao’s Troop Transport Tunnels". The tunnels were in use during the Han, Tang and Song Dynasty.
