History

Description

Cueva del Altar (Altar Cave) is a through-cave which is located in the Área Protegida Topes de Collantes. It is reached on a rather easy hike on the Sendero La Batata starting at Topes de Collantes, at the Casa Museo del Café. From the Gruta La Batata follow the Sendero a Codina to the Hacienda Codina campground. Then follow the Alfombra Mágica trail to the cave. It’s about 4 km to the cave, at least a one-hour hike. We suggest combining the visit of this cave with a visit to the Gruta La Batata.
