History

Description

The Cuevas de Silencio (Cuevas de Silencio) is a through-cave which crosses a karst tower from south to north. The single passage is horizontal and has a dirt trail, but no other development. It's a semi-wild cave with no development at all, but as it is very easy it has become quite popular. The cave is about 100 m long. Bring good walkling shoes and a lamp, we recommend a helmet with a headlamp.

The cave is located 2.5 km northeast of Viñales. It's easy to reach, following the main road through Viñales east, straight ahead, then turn left to the Cafe El lago valle de silencio. The road is a single lane gravel road. From here it's only a 500 m/10 minutes hike north through the fields to the karst tower.
