History

Description

Cueva de José is named after the owner and inhabitant José. He has a small shop selling honey, souvenirs and beverages. He shows his complete home to interested visitors for free, but a purchase or a small donation is a good idea. The cave is quite typical for a cave house, and located at a spectacular spot, the hill into which it was dug has the Mirador Padre Poveda on top (966 m asl) which allows a spectacular view across the Barrio de Cuevas. That’s why José actually calls his cave Cueva el Mirador.
