History

Description

The Musée de la Libération de Paris is dedicated to the liberation of the city in World War II, by the Allied Forces which . It was inaugurated on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of Paris in 2019. The visit includes the underground command post of Colonel Rol-Tanguy, head of the Paris branch of the Resistance. It is located 20 m below the museum.

The museum is actually not that new, before 2019 it was known as Musée du Général Leclerc de Hauteclocque et de la Libération de Paris, and also as Musée Jean-Moulin.
