The Musée Mémorial de la Ligne Maginot du Rhin (Memorial Museum of the Rhine Maginot Line) is located in the Kasematte 35/3 Marckolsheim. The small village is located in the plain, about 3.5 km west of the Rhine which is also border to Germany. As a part of the Maginot line this bunker was built right outside the village towards Germany. The bunker was originally named Kasematte 35/3 Marckolsheim.
The museum is a vast exhibition of all kinds of military equipment from World War II. This includes all kinds of weapons, from knifes, to pistols and rifles, but also different kinds of guns. It shows uniforms of both armies, flags and medals, war memorials and plaques. They even have decommissioned tanks.
