The Musée d'Art et d'Archéologie du Périgord (MAAP, museum of art and archaeology of the Perigrod) is located in Perigeux. It has nothing to do with caves or mines, there is no underground part, not even an artificial mine or cave. The reason why this museum is listed on showcaves.com is the prehistoric exhibition. It shows an enormous amount of prehistoric remains from the world famous caves and abris along the Vézère valley. Highlights are engraved ivory, bones, and antlers items. But the most important exhibits are the homme du Regourdou, a 70,000 years old Neanderthal skeleton from the Grotte de Regourdou and the homme de Chancelade, a 45 years old man from the Magdalénien, some 12,000 years old. The visit to this museum is a must if you are visiting the archaeological site of the Dordogne.
