Description

Morski Tunel Brijesta (Sea Tunnel Brijesta) is one of numerous seawater tunnels which were built during the German occupation during World War II. The bunker is also known as Potkop Brijesta (Undermining Brijesta). It was reused by the Yugoslavian army, but was only big enough for small ships, so it was closed rather early. Nevertheless, it was top secret until 1995. Then it was decommissioned and is now open without restrictions. It is today a refuge from bad weather for local shellfishers and a stop on boat tours for tourists. In 2022, it was a filming location for the series Jack Ryan, fourth season.
