The Gole del Salinello (Gorge of Salinello) is a narrow gorge located west of Ripe. There are two ways to access the gorge, the upper one going to the west and entering the gorge near the cave church Sant Angelo le Ripe, the lower road starts south of town at the road. There is a parking lot at the bridge and a trail following the gorge upriver. The trail through the gorge is rather rough and the trip is possible only during times of low water. When you enter the gorge have a look at the weather.
The most impressive waterfall in the gorge is called Cascata Lu Caccamo (Caccamo waterfall). The gorge has a total length of three kilometers, but the most impressive parts are on the first kilometer. There are three possibilities at the end, turn around, go to Castel Manfrino and then to town Macchia da Sole, or go directly to the town. The trails are marked by the CAI in red and yellow.
