Description

猿田洞 (Saruta Cave) was, according to legend, the training ground for the ninja Shigehei Kusaka. It is open to the public as a sort of semi-wild cave exploration, and the cave is gated, so you have to make an appointment to get the key. They provide helmets and gloves, but we recommend bringing your own helmet with headlamp, old clothes and good walking shoes or gumboots. It is not allowed to visit the cave alone, or you can hire a guide when making the appointment.
