Gua Pari (Fairy Cave) has a huge cavern with numerous stalagmites. Its portal is located in the cliff face of a karst tower and reached on a massive wooden staircase. From the cave portal visitors have a good view of the surrounding fields and forested hills. Inside it is developed with concrete trails and railings, but no light. The cave consists motre or less of a single huge chamber with a karstfenster allowing daylight to enter. As a result the walls and speleothems are covered by green moss. A three meter high stalagmite is resembles a woman dressed in classical Chinese robes complete with hat. The locals called it the Goddess of Mercy, which looks down benignly upon worshippers.
Fairy Cave and Wind Cave are located southwast of Bau, about 50 min drives from Kuching City. While the caves are not connected, they are generally guided together on combined half day trips. The 4-hour tours include pick up and drop of at the hotel, transport and guided cave tours.
