The Grotte Finzolua Ndombolozi (Finzolua Ndombolozi Cave) is located south of Mbanza-Ngungu, a karst area with numerous caves. Following the avenue bois de Noki the village Kitomakuiza is reached. At the beginning of the village a single lane road turns left and ends at a small car park, the cave is reached on a short hike.
The caves in this area are called "Caves of Mbanza-Ngungu", which is actually the whole group of caves. Several are open for cave trekking tours. This cave was equipped with iron staircases and railings, but has no real development, only the more dangerous parts have been made a little less dangerous.
The cave contains bat guano deposits, which are still mined as fertilizer. It is entered through a gated doorway, which was created during colonial times. As a result, it is necessary to find a local guide with a key. As far as we understand, the locals are quite happy to show their cave to foreigners, so they will show the cave if possible. But as most people work during the week, this means that the cave is generally open on weekends and holidays after short notice.
