Ulupaka is praised for its abundant and beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. The cave is almost horizontal and thus easy to explore, but there are several tight squeezes like the Keyhole and The Squeeze.
Ulupaka is almust undeveloped, but there is a local cave guide service, Tali's Cave Tours, which you can book through the Niue Tourism Office in Alofi. It helps to find the cave and the guides also provide torches. The cave is equipped with a rope to assist one descent, and a wooden ladder at the exit. The tours take 1.5 hours, but as they are very individual, visitors may also stay two to three hours underground to explore the cave better.
