History

MAR-2016	discovered by an inhabitant of the neighboring town.
02-SEP-2016	first exploration during the Nor-Peru 2016 expedition.
14-AUG-2017	exploration and mapping was completed during the Cerro expedition.

Description

Cueva de la Piedra Brillante is very recent discovery. It was discovered, explored and mapped in 2016. The cave has a huge chmber with dry floor and a river passage which extend to both sides. The dry part near the entrance is used for touristic visits. For this reason the the entrance was gated by a iron bar gate. Nevertheless the cave is not developed and requires crawling on all fours.
