History

1883 discovered during excavations by the Odessa Society of History and Antiquities.
1980-1984 S. A. Belyaev directed further excavations and provided architectural measurements of the church.

Description

On the island of Crimea, in the city of Sevastopol are the archaeological remains of the old Tauric Chersonesos. Within the third block of the main street is the entrance to an underground structure, often called the cave church.
