History

Description

Blejski vintgar is narrow canyon with a wild stream with multiple rapids and small water falls. The gorge is not narrow enough to be called a slot canyon, but it is quite impressive, as the sides are 250 m high at some points. The gorge is entered from the upper entrance, which is signposted from Bled and located only a few kilometers north of the popular tourist town. But the roads to the gorge are quite narrow, so you should plan enough time for this last few kilometers. There is a parking lot, but on weekends and during holiday season it might be full. This actually also applies to the gorge. Nevertheless you should visit the gorge during sunny weather, as the mystic blue colour of the water can only be seen while the sun shines.
