Deliktaş Mağarası (Holey Stone Cave) is located right north of the village Kadriye, only about 15 km from Bursa. Follow the only road through the village, turn left at the first possibility towards Ucpinar, there is a piknik area with a spring, from here it’s a short hike downhill to the sink. This cave is a river sink, in other words a river flows into this cave and vanishes completely. While this is quite spectacular, it is also not visible all the year, because this river is intermittent, like many rivers in Turkey. It flows in the spring, at snow melt, and after heavy rains, but is typically dry in summer and autumn.
The site is easy to visit, there is a hike of 200 m from the piknik area to the cave entrance. The cave has a river bed with huge boulders, but when its dry its easy to walk in the river bed. The cave is spacious and a through-cave with light from both sides. A lamp is recommended but not mandatory. During times when the river is flowing it might be possible to walk into the cave stepping from one boulder to the next. Be careful if you do so and wear good walking shoes for the visit.
