Esbelli Evi Hotel is located in the Esbelli district in Ürgüp, which is noted for its fine old stone homes. It was bought by Süha Ersöz and renovated carfully by local artisans. Originally this were five different houses, each with its 5th- to 6th-century cave behind it. There are only ten cave room, all in the original carfully renovated caves. The owner refuses to enlarge the hotel to preserve the warm, personal atmosphere.
Each room in the hotel has hardwood floors, a modern bathroom with marble showers and a king-sized brass bed. The furniture is of Ottoman style, the kilim carpets come from house of the owner's grandmother. On the windows are traditional lace curtains made by the mother of the ower. The rooms are accessed through carved-out passageways. Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace, which offers a panorama of the surrounding countryside.
