History

Description

The Gemini Bridges are located in an area of the U.S.A. where numerous arches exist, most of them formed by wind erosion. These bridges are of the same type, located in the desert not far from the village Moab. But nevertheless they are much harder to reach than all the other bridges, and as a result you will most likely be alone. So if you want to see bridges without being surrounded by hundreds of other people seeking solitude, this is the place. There is the Gemini Bridges Road which connects US-191 north of Moab and Utah SR-313 east to west. This road is a single lane gravel road and not suitable for all vehicles, its considered off-road country. The easiest and shortest access is from the SR-313. Alternatively you can hike the 6 to 8 km.

The Gemini Bridges are a sort of double bridge, two bows immediately one after the other. They are on public land operated by the Bureau of Land Management. Unlike the bridges in the National Parks, it is allowed to actually walk across the bridge. This is obviously only possible because the numer of visitors is so low. Be careful if you do so, don't stumble and fall.
