Vortex Spring is a karst spring located near Ponce de Leon, Florida and the largest diving facility in the state of Florida. The karst spring emerges from a water-filled cave, forms a huge pond with sloping sides, the runoff flows into nearby Otter Creek, which joins Sandy Creek. The spring contains many fish, mostly large carps in the basin and freshwater eels in the cave.
Vortex Spring is a popular diving area both for experienced and novice divers. It's possible to go there for swimming, to buy a diving day pass, or book a dive training. There is also a campground and lodges and cabins for overnight stay.
