The Cincinnati Museum Center includes the Cincinnati History Museum, the Museum of Natural History & Science and The Children's Museum. The Museum of Natural History & Science has an exhibition which is simply called The Cave. The cave replica was modeled from caves found in the tri-state region. It has two levels and 150 m of passages. It shows typical limestone formations, stalactites and stalagmites, waterfalls and a big brown bat colony.
Like in real caves there are narrow passages, and as a result it was closed during the pandemic as it was not possible to realize distancing and necessary hygiene measures. But the replica was reopened on 02-SEP-2022, exactly 55 years after it was first opened to the public.
