Description

LowLine is a planned park in Manhattan, so you can not see it yet. The special thing with this park is, that it will be built underground, which is rather difficult if you want to build a park, because plants need light. And classical use of lamps consumes a lot of energy. The planners have thought about this problem and created a lot of ideas about bringing natural light underground and the use of modern light systems like LED.

There is now an exhibition about their ideas named Imagining the Lowline, so it is possible to see the underground park which does not exist. It is located in Essex Street Warehouse, on the corner of Essex and Broome Street, and there is no entrance fee.
