Description

Vorderkaserklamm is a narrow gorge which was formed by the melting waters of the last Ice Age some 12,000 to 14,000 years ago. Today it is still deepened continually by the Ödenbach, but as a much lower rate, about 6mm per year. The 80 m deep gorge is developed by 51 wooden bridges and 35 wooden staircases with 373 steps. At the entrance of the gorge lies a small nature protection area with bathing lakes and barbeque area it the valley called Schüttachgraben.
