狮子洞 (Shizidong, Lion's Cave) is a cave with three different levels. The middle level is developed as a show cave, a passage with seven chambers and numerous speleothems. The main chamber is 19 m high and 11 m wide. The cave is not named after a lion, it is named after Shizishan Mountain at the western foot of Lushan Mountain, where it is located. The speleothems on the cave were named after animals, so they form an animal kingdom. The cave is developed in lower Permian Maokou limestone and Qixia limestone. It contains fossils of striidae and brachiopods and also many flint nodules.
