The four star Hotel Pelion has its own cave, Pelion barlang (Pelion cave). The hotel is specialized on medical treatments, spas and wellness, and uses the cave for medicinal reasons. It is thus generally called Medicinal cave, which is not a proper name, but a description of its function. The cave is part of the cave system of Tapolcai Tavasbarlang.
The climatic parameters of the air in the cave (temperature, humidity, CO2 content) are constant and lacks any aggressive outside factors like pollen, dust or air pollution. These factors have a medicative effect on diseases like allergy, asthma and other respiratory disorders. The high CO2 content has a tranquillising effect.
